UCC-CT stands for "University Competence Center for Collaboration Technologies powered by IBM." The UCC-CT is an initiative to promote education and research in the area of collaborative work. This collaborative project was jointly launched in 2010 by the University of Koblenz-Landau and IBM. The traditional academic disciplines of teaching and research are in the focus of the UCC-CT.
The UCC CT develops innovative teaching modules for training in collaboration technologies, especially for social business software and provides this for teachers in educational institutions. It also operates a hosting platform for customized learning environments.
In international research collaborations, the UCC-CT team studies the effects of the use of collaboration technologies and social business software in enterprises. The findings of the research projects are continuously transferred into the teaching material of the UCC-CT.
The long term goal of the project is the establishment and operation of a center of expertise and services for educational institutions.
